ECOCELL’s contribution to CLIMATE CHANGE: non-oil-based insulation

ECOCELL BETONWABE requires NO OIL-BASED MATERIALS

ECOCELL BETONWABE requires NO OIL-BASED MATERIALS

ECOCELL has developed a procedure for the industrial manufacture of honeycombs from corrugated fibreboard. The entire honeycomb structure, made from 100% recycled paper, is covered with a mineral coating in a process covered by a global patent and then “petrified”. 90% of ECOCELL BETONWABE is air, and with a material cost of under $ 50 per m3 it is one of the cheapest construction materials in the world when mass-produced.

Furthermore, BETONWABE is the first insulating material that consists of no oil-based products and that can be statically loaded in its composite form.

Upper Austria home building subsidy increases:

By not resorting to oil-based insulating materials in the thermal shell, the subsidised loan for new own homes increases by 10,000 euros. This excludes below-ground insulating layers. The non-use of oil-based insulating materials refers exclusively to the material of the insulating layer, but not to necessary, system-required components (e.g. organic fillers in binding or reinforcing masses or final coatings) or organic aids in the insulating material, especially support fibres. Oil-based insulating materials include for example insulating panels made of polystyrene (EPS and XPS), polyurethane (PU), phenolic resin foam or insulating fills with EPS granules.
