DRY SCREED for UNDERFLOOR HEATING
The BETONWABE developed by ECOCELL is perfectly suited as dry screed for the foundation of floor underlays with and without underfloor heating.
The SCREED HONEYCOMB PANELS can be ordered in thicknesses of 36 mm or 65 mm and in the common formats 60×120 cm and 60×60 cm in ECOCELL’s online shop as of now.
The 65 mm-thick SCREED HONEYCOMB PANELS come as standard with grooves spaced every 100 mm for the underfloor heating pipes.
The 36 mm-thick SCREED HONEYCOMB PANELS are used as DRY SCREED ELEMENTS without underfloor heating.
In contrast to traditional screed honeycombs, ECOCELL’s SCREED HONEYCOMB does not require a filler. However, it does require a flat and level surface.
Composite construction panels are placed as floating panels, glued together or screwed on top of the ECOCELL SCREED HONEYCOMBS. Screed panels of OSB, cement or gypsum fibre boards can be used.
To improve footfall noise reduction, the SCREED HONEYCOMBS can be placed on sound-insulating mats.
The use of heat-guiding conduction plates also ensures a more uniform heat distribution.

New area of application for ECOCELL BETONWABE as dry screed, including with underfloor heating, with enormous advantages compared to all traditional systems, such as:
- no extensive drying times – enables work to continue immediately
- no entry of moisture into the building
- fast and simple installation – requires no specialist knowledge
- no FILLER – and therefore no trickle protection
- low STRUCTURAL HEIGHT
- grooves for underfloor heating pipes are already milled, but can also be easily added on site
- adapted for renovation and new construction
- contains no oil-based materials – the ECOCELL BETONWABE is manufactured from 100% recycled paper. A mineral coating provides the required fire-retardant properties as well as the additional desired weight (200-250kg/m3).
The ECOCELL honeycomb panels were used for the first time as dry screed elements in the free-standing one-family houses in St. Margrethen-SG and the ECO Solar houses in Uttwil-TG.
